Match Three - DBS 33 vs Repton 30
Repton, the team coming into the game undefeated with 2 wins and no loss. DBS coming into the game with one win and one loss.
Repton, beating the team that DBS lost to.
DBS team did not let that bother them and went for a great 16 - 8 run in the first half. New additions to the team, Cyrus Izibili and Hamaad were both doing what was needed in the defensive end to stop Repton scoring the ball.
Harry Wilkins as usual was using his post ups to score together with Hamaad under the basket (main reason for keeping the lead). First half ending 20 - 16.
DBS coming into the second were beginning to under estimate No. 15 from the Repton team. As a reason easy 3's were drained switching the lead. However, great defensive boards allowed DBS to go on fast breaks. Throughout the half, 4 lead switches were portraying the intensity of the game.
Game ending in a close win DBS 33 - Repton 30.

Match Two- DBS 41 vs DESC 49
Before the game began, team DBS understood that the game will be a hard one to win.
DESC, having a reputation of being one of the top schools in sports and were feeling confident as they entered the court. Coach Wright (DBS), explained what was needed to do to win the game, determination and hard work, and as a result DBS were leading 24 – 19 at the end of the half.
DESC began changing the defensive formation, and as a result team DBS had a hard time controlling the ball on the offensive end. Number (6) from team DESC was easily getting bucket after bucket in the paint and therefore a time out had to be taken. DESC leading 34 - 30. Willem from team DBS had to play full court press on Number (6) to cool him down a bit. Yes, as a result it worked, though DBS was yet to get a lead. DESC having two to three good players were able to overtake the game 49 to 41, however, this was one of the best games DBS had played due to hard work, determination and enthusiasm being shown throughout the game.

Match One - Wellington 20 vs DBS 34
First game of the season. Yes, and a much anticipated match.
First half of the game, 5 minutes into the half and everyone in the DBS team were still getting a feel for the game. As soon as time out was taken, each and every player knew what to do, and this could be seen by simply looking at the score board, DBS was up by 10 points (14-4). Thanks to one of our key defensive players, Anthony Van Landengham, we were able to reduce chances of any second chance points. Therefore, with good communication in the defensive and offensive end we were able to finish the half 22 – 8.
Second half of the game. Wellington began changing their defensive tactics and as a result it got our team out of control in the offensive end, bringing the score up to 24 – 13. Time out as a result was taken. Once again, DBS team got back on their feet with a smart offensive set up and strong defensive formation. Harry Wilkins, one of the teams scoring machine, got 4 baskets in the half (8 points), increasing the score to 32. A minute later DBS had won the game 34 – 20.

Match one: DBS 16- Repton 40
On the 2nd of October the girls Basketball team played a match against Repton. We had a bumpy start as we were unable to get a point on the score board. We were finding it difficult to compete with the height and strength of the Repton girls. But we did not give up. We then made a comeback, scoring some fantastic baskets, showing great determination. As the game went on we continued to score but it wasn’t enough to claim the victory. The game ended, the final score was 16-40 to Repton. It doesn’t matter what the score was because I think all the girls played a fantastic game. Well done!

DBS 24- EIS Jumeirah 17
On the 20th of November the girls of the under 18-basketball team won their first game of the season against EIS J! We were off to a great start with the whole team playing fanatastic defense and even better attack. We were able to maintain this great lead of 10:6 into the second quarter scoring some amazing baskets and showing great determination. As the game went on we continued to score but EIS J were a strong team and were able to score a few more baskets bringing us close to an even score. However, we maintained our concentration and determination and came out victorious ending the game with a final score of 24-17. Well done!
