DBS vs Repton
Our final match of the season was held at DBS against Repton.
From the whistle DBS were not switched on and conceded two early tries, which left DBS 10 - 0 down. DBS pulled themselves together, with passes down the wing to Matthew who made a few outstanding breaks against the Repton defence, but was left isolated.
James Forrester made some smashing tackles, with also Lachlan Rubens too making strong tackles. Again Oisin Fagan and Alex Clark had a solid performance with tackles and offensive drives. On several occasions we were just feet from their line only at the last minute to make a simple error and to be pushed back again.
Finally, in the second half, a pass from Alex Clark to Oisin broke the Repton line, and with a fantastic side step and dive he went over the line for DBS's first try. Again from the whistle DBS pushed Repton back into their half and with constant pressure managed to score the equaliser from an untidy ruck, scored by Alex Clark. Big performances from Captain Seb Camp and Jac Matthews helped the boys push forward and gain the result they deserved. The final score 10-10.

DBS vs Gems Wellington Silicon Oasis
Silicon Oasis were our first opponents of the day and we found our first game a bit of a struggle. We could have improved our tackling .Wellington showed very good passing and rucking to lead to most of their tries. In the second half with good support DBS passed the ball well but didn’t manage to keep hold for long enough. Jac Matthews was very good stealing the ball but the team needed to support him more.
Well done silicon oasis for winning but this was a great effort on our part. We are getting better as a squad.

DBS vs Gems WIS
After being thrashed in our first game we knew we needed to step it up. First half Wellington got hold of the ball but after some smooth passes from DBS we knew we were getting some momentum .We also knew they were looking to avenge our last match so we got right in.
Jac M was once again good at stealing and passing to score his first try and to be fair wellington had good passes and found some gaps in our defence. Cameron improved and did very well running onto the ball which, led to his two tries. Also Jack, Oisin, Lachlan and myself each with one try. We were victorious against WIS. Well done to all the boys.

DBS 11 - 2 GEMS Royal Dubai School
This was our first ever match as a team. We had the advantage of playing at home, with a lot of support from family and friends.
From the start of the match DBS dominated GEMS, putting together a stream of passes and hard tackles, we broke through their defence to score our first try. The try's kept on coming, Ben Little charging through their Defence, and Oisin passing it out brilliantly toward the backs. Josh Riding, Alex Tanner, and James Forrester also had a particular great first match for DBS.

DBS 1 - 8 Horizon
We knew this was going to be a very tough second match. From the start we were placed on the back foot, with few tackles being made and passes not being received. DBS were making too many errors. James Forrester put in some great tackles, and never gave up. Ben Little again tried to gain some ground for DBS and Lachlan Ruebens also sprinted down the side line. This was a very tough match, and unfortunately we lost. A lesson learned for all the boys today.

DC 10’s Tournament
DBS 5 - 19 Jebel Ali Primary School
Our first match was against Jebel Ali Primary School. This was our first ever tournament as a team. There had been a few changes to the team. Alex Clark had been added to the team. From the start of the match, we were missing our tackles, and JAPS scored within the first minutes of the match. We came back at them in the second half with renewed energy and a positive team talk by Mr Grainger. We scored our first try! Billy Addis dodged an JAPS player and sprinted forward, creating a gap for Lachlan Ruebens to dash forward, but their defence was too strong and pushed him into touch. Steven was quick getting the ball out of the ruck while Cameron Mashford was smashing through the middle. Not a bad first game for the team in our first tournament.
Man of the Match - Billy Addis
DBS 0 - 12 DESS
DESS won the toss and from the beginning the tackles from DESS were strong. Alex Clark as a winger had a very strong game, with Oisin, Josh and Alex having a particular tough but strong game for DBS. Unfortunately James Forrester and Sebastian Camp were injured in this match and could not continue for the remainder of the tournament.
Man of the match - Alex Clark
DBS 7 - 19 JESS RANCHES
JESS won the toss so DBS were kicking again. Lachlan Rubens was storming the outsides and we got the first try. But JESS came back with renewed energy and scoring a converted and a normal try. After half time DBS came back at JESS but a missed tackle made an opportunity for JESS and another try was scored. A scrum collapsed and Cameron Mashford was injured and Alex Clark moved into scrum half while Alex McNicholl made most of the teams tackles.
Man of the match - Alex Clark
DBS 5 - 12 Exiles
Again this was a tough match, but the boys were up for the task. With Three boys out with injury, we knew we had to play hard.
Exiles scored the first try after a few miss tackles but Alex Tanner smashed his way forward creating DBS's first try of the match. Matthew also tried to create space, and passed and tackled throughout the match. Again Alex, Lachlan, Ben, Billy and Josh put in solid performances but the opposition were too well drilled for us.
Man of the match – Matthew Harrison

From the beginning DBS were up for the match and from the whistle they played brilliantly. Their tackles and passes were always made. The whole team played incredible and finally a success story for the team. Winning the bowl was still an achievement for DBS as this was our first ever entry into the DC 10’s.
