U16s DC v DBS
In a tough match against an experienced Dubai Collage side, DBS lost 75-7. DC started the match strong and scored within the first 2 minutes of play. This disheartened the DBS team and DC quickly laid down more points in quick succession in the first half, using there good passing and ability to play the ball wide to score. The score was 50-0 by half time, but in the second half a determined DBS side returned to the field and Alex, using to excellent solo work, was able to draw enough players and then passing to Stephan who scored in the right hand side. Delton then scored a difficult conversion. DC responded to this quickly and using their speed and good movement were able to score again and this, disheartening the DBS team, allowed them to score many more afterwards. At the end of the game the final score was 75-7.

DC 10’S Tournament Report
DBS had an eventful tournament at DC, getting to the plate semi-finals. We had drawn a tough group to progress from at the DC 10’s, which featured DESC, JESS Ranches, Al Ain and SES.
Our first game was against DESC, both sides played well but DESC had the quicker players on the wing and won the game 27-0. The DBS defence had been good but could not match the pace of the DESC players out wide. DESC later went on to win the DC 10S’s tournament.
The second game was much closer fought but unfortunately Al Ain pulled off a victory, winning 17-12, the DBS defence was much better this time denying Al Ain many times. Nic managed to score a try early in the first half, lifting DBS spirit but Al Ain pushed back quickly before Hamahd scored but it was too late to start a comeback for DBS.
The next game was a hard match against an experienced JESS side who, in a tough match, managed to win 15-0. Both sides played sloppy rugby and neither side controlled the game. JESS managed to break the DBS defensive line and scored in the first and second half.
In our final group game we play an inexperienced SES and won a fantastic victory 24-12. The DBS defence stood strong and Willem, Stephan, Otto and Calum all scored for DBS. SES managed to break twice and did score but that did not dampen spirits.
DBS finished in the group 4th and we drew Wellington in the Plate semi-final. The kick off time for the match had been pushed forwards by 30 minutes or so, DBS and Wellington were caught by surprise and the game quickly started and neither team had warmed up. The match was incredibly even with both sides defences on form. Just before the first half ended Wellington broke the DBS line and -scored a converted try making it 7-0. But DBS fought back in the second half and managed to score a try making it 5-7. Both sides battled on and were at points meters from each others try line. Unfortunately Wellington managed to hold out and won the game 7-5.

U16s Repton V DBS
In the second match of our season, DBS narrowly lost to Repton 19-26 in a close fought game. The first half was very even with neither side controlling the game and neither sided scoring any points. After the second half kicked off Repton scored a quick try, one of their backs ploughed through our line, followed by a successful conversion. After a further 20 minutes of a very even play, DBS broke through, Callum gained ground popped the ball to Stephan who sprinted down the blindside and scored. The ball way successfully converted by Delton. Repton quickly reorganised and came back at us and scored also converting the ball. The game continued with possession often changing hands, Delton saw an opportunity, pushed through to score for DBS. Repton replied with another try almost immediately. Just before the final whistle Alex, with a great piece of solo scored for DBS. Sadly it wasn’t enough and the whistle blew for full time.

U16s First Match of the Session- JESS V DBS
In our first ever match as a 15s team, DBS u16’s lost to a well organised and prepared JESS Ranches team 18-49. The match began even, with neither side controlling possession. After 10 minutes of play JESS found a gap in the DBS defensive line and they were able to score a try, completing the conversion. JESS quickly scored another try, this time passing the ball wide and running through the DBS defence line, and successfully converted the ball. DBS worked hard as a team gaining ground, they won the line out, passed the ball well and Lachlan forced his way through a strong JESS defence to score, unfortunately he dislocated his shoulder while doing so and had to be taken off. JESS took advantage of our loss of focus and scored again. After half time a determined DBS side returned to the pitch. JESS kicked the ball over our defensive line, they were lucky with the bounce and scored again within the first five minutes of play. DBS responded a pop pass to Stephan who ran through the JESS line and put the ball down in the right hand corner for our second try, sadly we missed the conversion. After this JESS were able to take possession of the game and managed to score again. Alex then countered for DBS by scoring a solid try under the posts, converted by Delton. Spirits were raised, but in the end it was just a consolation as JESS quickly scored twice just before full time.
